Topic of speech:
Stay in control after Atlassian Data Center: European digital sovereignty & control with XWiki
With Atlassian announcing the end of life of Data Center products in March 2029 and AI training on Confluence instances, many teams that rely on Atlassian documentation are rethinking their options. Rising costs, licensing constraints, and cloud-only roadmaps are pushing organizations to look for alternatives they can truly own.
We explore these challenges and show how XWiki provides a proven, open-source alternative to Confluence.
Here is a quick summary of what we’ll cover:
- How XWiki supports structured knowledge and collaboration, with a strong permission model and extensibility
- How to approach a Confluence migration step-by-step, from scoping and content assessment to validation
- A live migration demo showing what happens to hierarchies, attachments, and macros during the move
- How teams plan for real-life constraints like on-premises requirements, delegated administration, and long-term maintainability
