Jana Palm is the General Manager of Stugan, a world-class games accelerator in the middle of the Swedish woods. She has been there from the beginning and has helped build this unique project, which brings together talented game developers from all over the world and lets them work on their projects in an isolated place. Jana studied at KTH and Masaryk University and has had a lifelong interest in games. She is a frequent guest and a speaker at international conferences including Casual Connect, Pocket Gamer, Slush, BAFTA Guru Live and Level Up. Jana has a strong international network within the games industry and has been invited to events in different parts of world (Taiwan, Jordan and KL). Jana is often a judge in a game dev competitions such as Indie Prize, IMGA, Swedish Game Awards and IGF.

VR is by no means a new technology. The bases were laid by the American air force already in the 60s´. So what is it that makes VR so prolific in our society today? Can VR live up to the hype? Or is it another example of hardware where manufacturers want consumers to upgrade their already expensive equipment? In this talk Jana Palm will explore the true value of the technology from a video games perspective.
