The MindTrek Party will be held on Wednesday evening, Oct 8th.

The programme includes great music, performances and celebrating and getting to know the MindTrek competition winners. The party will be the best place to meet all the MindTrek people!

The party will be held at the legendary Yo-talo at Kauppakatu 10, Tampere. The Yo-talo house was originally built 1901 to function as a bank. The old art nouveau-style house was owned by Student Union in the sixties. Nowadays the House is a corporated restaurant.

The party is free for all the conference attendees.

The fee just for the party is 30 € (including VAT 22%).

Cause and Effect interactive cinema performance on Thursday Oct 9th at 19.00 in Werstas auditorio/Finlayson.

"Cause and Effect" is performed by Chris Hales and Teijo Pellinen.



A cross between cinema and live theatre, offering a 90 minute programme of original short films which are designed to allow interaction from the audience. The films are experimental yet accessible and each uses a different method of enabling the audience to interact. The first performance took place in 2002, after which some 30 shows have been presented in different locations and at different events, including at the Festival of Cinema and New Media (FCMM) in Montreal and the European Media Art Festival (EMAF).

New films and new methods of interaction being added continually to the performance, 'guest' films are often shown, and some of our regular films are 'customised' with the insertion of new scenes filmed at the venue itself. Our newest films include the video-tracking of a light passed around by the audience, the use of mobile phone calling, and the unique "I-Spy" - in which some audience members actually feature as characters in a pre-recorded fiction film.
