Host: Juha Kaario Nokia Juha Kaario (MSc, eMBA candidate) is a Principal Scientist at the Nokia Research Center. He joined Nokia Mobile Phones marketing department in 1995 and moved to Nokia Research in 1997. In Nokia research Center he has worked ten years as a research manager and senior research manager for several teams including Wearable Computing (1998-2002), Personal Content (2002-2003) and Mobile Games (2003-2007). Previously he has worked in the University of Tampere (1993–94), in the Technical Research Center of Finland (1992-93) and as a co-owner in a small enterprise (1993-1996). His interests are in multi-discipline research for personal content, pervasive computing and mobile services combined with business innovation. He is currently working in Nokia ecological research team focusing on ethical consumption and social media.

Earth is facing such challenges that either we will actively find sustainable solutions or we will be forced to it. Jussi Kivipuro is serving at Greenpeace headquarters in Amsterdam in the crossing of technology, communications, and environmentalism. He facilitated Greenpeace ICT strategy and is now responsible for new Greenpeace global online channels. He worked as a volunteer in Bangkok straight after the tsunami. He also founded fundraising and support projects in Beijing and Shanghai.Before Greenpeace, Jussi worked in service innovation to make desirable, viable and feasible digital services & communications. He created future services for Nokia, Coca-Cola and Burton in Satama Interactive during 2000-2007. His team implemented global product launches and marketing physically in 48 countries. Before Satama Interactive he was co-founder of OfflineTravel.com and OfflineShop.com in Shanghai and video producer in Lapland. Discussion starters with Jussi: sustainability, environmentalism, service innovation, marketing communications, organisational performance, matchmaking, program management "Enable people to be the change" Jussi Kivipuro will introduce how Greenpeace is utilizing social media in different countries to empower ordinary people to be part of the change. At the same time, the technology we all use is also part of the problem. You will hear how the electronic products we buy here, are piling up as e-waste in the developing countries. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DOROTHEA KLEINE University Of London Dr Dorothea Kleine is Project Manager for the EPSRC Fair Tracing Project, which aims to use ICTs to give producers and consumers enhanced information about product value chains. Dorothea is Lecturer in Human Geography at Royal Holloway, University of London and a member of the ICT4D Collective/UNESCO Chair in ICT, a centre which brings together researchers working in the field of information and communication and development. Dorothea studied at Munich and Oxford University before completing a PhD in Economic Geography and ICT at the London School of Economics and post-doctoral research at the University of Cambridge. Her research interest include: information and communication technologies and development; globalization and trade; Fair Trade; ethical consumption; gender; and regional and local economic development. Dorothea has mainly worked in Latin America, but recent research is also taking place in India. She has worked as a consultant/advisor to EuropeAid, the German Federal Development Agency (GTZ), InWent, as well as to private companies, community groups and NGOs.
