Tampere Multimedia Festival and Tampere Multimedia Awards was arranged first time in 1997 as national initiatives. In 1999 the festival was renamed MindTrek and became international. The competition was also renamed, but MindTrek Awards has stayed national. On the European level MindTrek Awards has had cooperation with EUROPRIX Awards and EUROPRIX Top Talent Awards. On the global level MindTrek Awards has intense cooperation with World Summit Awards. MindTrek in 1999 hosted EU INFO-2000 Programme Conference, EUROPRIX Awards Gala, International Mobile Media Summit, first EUROPRIX Scholars Network Conference and a number of other international networking events. MindTrek has had visitors from almost 40 countries. Most MindTrek have been conducted in Finnish, but there is always conferences and seminars where working language is English. MindTrek Association is actively networked with European players of Information Society and Digital Media. Partnering with EUROPRIX network and European Academy of Digital Media (EADiM) MindTrek has close contacts to leading producers and researchers in 32 European countries. Other MindTrek Association international partnerships include Top Talent Awards, World Summit on Information Society Awards, World Summit Youth Award, EADiM Academic Network, NAME Multimedia Job Reference Guide Project. In 2006 MindTrek Association produced the Top Talent Award Roadshow in Hämeenlinna, Finland, and the World Summit Award Roadshow in Tampere. MindTrek Association arranged the World Summit Award 2007 Finland competition, the winners will represent Finland at World Summit Award. |
