Brie Code is a speaker, writer, AI programmer, and the CEO and creative director of Tru Luv Media, a video game studio making games with people who don’t like games. Brie loves video games but her friends find video games boring, and Brie wants to fix that.
Brie travels frequently to to work with emerging game development communities and speak at games and tech events. She has recently joined the team at Game Girl Workshop. She has a monthly column at GamesIndustry.biz.
Previously she was a lead programmer at Ubisoft on the soft, ethereal game Child of Light and three Assassin’s Creed games. She started her career writing AI code. If you’ve played Company of Heroes against the AI, you’re playing against Brie and one of her colleagues.

Globalization and the internet have changed our lives radically compared to our parents’ lives. We have new challenges: global warming, the growing wealth divide, the rising cost of education, and automation and artificial intelligence. Meanwhile, we are already living in mixed reality through our phones and laptops and soon will be living in a mix of physical reality/AR/VR. What does this all mean for the role and the responsibility of video games in our coming future? Are we headed for a dystopian future or can we use video games to imagine or perhaps even to bring a better world?
