NOW FOR M-APPLICATIONS: NOMINATE YOUR FAVOURITE FOR THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS!

The World Summit Award (WSA) is a global activity to select and promote the world's best e-Content and most innovative ICT applications. It offers a worldwide platform for all those who value the creative use of ICTs and who are committed to making today’s information society more inclusive. WSA Mobile is a special contest to identify the best mobile contents.

WSA Finland is the competition to choose the Finnish nominees for WSA and WSA Mobile. Anyone can nominate their favourites by September 5th. The WSA Finland Awards Ceremony will be at the MindTrek Conference, Tampere, October 7th.

MINDTREK LAUNCHPAD: LAUNCH YOUR SUCCESS AND WIN 20 000 € !

If you think you have invented the next big thing, you should participate in the MindTrek LaunchPad competition. It awards innovative new Finnish digital media products or demos – and the people behind it, who have the urge to make it big. The prize sum in total is 20 000 €. The main jury of industry experts will award the most promising business case (15 000 €), the press jury is going to emphasize the innovativeness of the product (4 000 €), and the audience will choose its own favorite as well (1 000 €).

Register by filling in an online form by August 22nd, at the latest. Six finalists will be selected from the submitted applications to demonstrate their ideas in front of the jurors and the MindTrek conference audience on Thursday, October 7th.

APPS4FINLAND COMPETITION: MAKE FINLAND A BETTER PLACE!

Apps4Finland is a competition where you can compete with ideas and functional web applications, widgets, mashups, iPhone apps, Facebook apps, and other digital utilities that make use of some public data and thus facilitate the collaboration between citizens and public organizations.

Apps4Finland has three categories. Two for implementations - one for independent developers and another for companies and other organizations - and one for ideas. The total award sum of 13 000 € is divided between the idea and implementation categories and the Honorable Mention awards.

Registration ends August 31st. No idea or application is too small or too big for this competition. We want to embrace the emergence of new ideas and collaboration that make Finland a better place for everyone!

NOKIA UBIMEDIA MINDTREK AWARD DEADLINE EXTENDED

The Ubimedia competition seeks to broaden our understanding of where and how ubiquitous media will influence our future life. We are looking for disruptive artistic visions as well as clever near-to-market solutions off the beaten tracks! This includes any range of innovative ubimedia, pervasive, or ambient products and services.

The total award sum for the Nokia Ubimedia MindTrek Award is 7 000€. The sum can be awarded to one entry, divided between several entries or not awarded at all if the award criteria set by the jury are not fulfilled. New competition deadline is August 22nd.
