NOKIA Ubimedia MindTrek Awards 2010: The best of Ubimedia has been found

The purpose of the competition was to encourage makers of digital media to generate ideas and develop new and innovative ubimedia products & services. Ubimedia means technology that is embedded in its surroundings. The word “Ubi” comes from the Latin word “ubique” which means “everywhere”. The competition was open to all kinds of artists, practitioners, and industries and the total prize sum is 7.000 Euros.

MindTrek Launchpad Press jury published

The Press Jury consists of representatives of the media and it is going to emphasize the innovativeness of the product or demo. It will be giving out 4 000€ for it's favorite. The press jury members are Jouni Junkkaala (Tietoviikko & MikroPC), Tero Lehto (Tietokone), Mikko Pulliainen (Aamulehti) and Merina Salminen (Kauppalehti).

The whole prize sum for the MindTrek Launchpad is 20 000 €. The main jury of industry experts will award the most promising business case (15 000 €) and also the audience will choose its own favorite (1 000 €).

MindTrek Launchpad competition launched

Have you invented the next big thing? Do you have a transforming media service or technology innovation that can change the way we live? Or just a too good digital content business concept?

The MindTrek LaunchPad competition awards innovative new Finnish digital media products or demos – and the people behind it, who have the urge to make it big.

Apps4Finland competition has been launched

Developers and designers will compete by creating ideas and functional web applications, widgets, mashups, iPhone apps, Facebook apps, and other digital utilities that, make use of some public data and facilitate the collaboration between citizens and public organizations.

We encourage everybody to participate. No idea or application is too small for this competition. We want to embrace the emergence of new ideas and collaboration that make the Finland a better place for everyone. That's why Apps4Finland.
